The place had a very welcoming and chill vibe. Their staff greeted us with a smile and was very helpful when we were unsure of what to order.

There's a wide variety of coffee choices from light to darker flavor. Each coffee is brewed on the spot in the front to ensure freshness and taste.

Price is cheap and affordable for the quality and amount of the coffee served.

This is an excellent place and I will definitely come back!

I had heard of Philz but just thought it was another coffee place. I walked in during a free coffee weekend promo and had no idea how the system works. Apparently they are more like a bar where you order from the baristas first. That way you can discuss exactly what you want, get their expert advice... etc. Then you go to pay. I'm not the type of coffee person who needs this type of service so I'll probably just order from the app next time. The thing is... the coffee was amazing. I got the ecstatic with medium cream and sugar and found it to be perfect. I will probably dream about it.

This location has a Buck Showalter snow globe which is a huge bonus considering proximity to Nats Park.

We were out for a date night, and needed to caffeinate so we would actually stay awake for the fun. Hubs searched for coffee places and Philz was close by, with great reviews. Employees were super helpful to these first timers, patiently describing and recommending beverages based on our preferences.

I loved my iced ginger snap and hubs loved his iced mint mojito (coffee!!!). The next day, as we brewed our Costco coffee at home we longingly discussed our delicious brews from the night before and anxiously awaiting another trip to Navy Yard that will certainly be fueled by Philz!

I had originally tried this place in San Francisco since it's a staple over there. I don't remember what I got, but my friend got the mint mojito iced coffee. The name turned me off so much. They finally came to DC and my friend had always been wanting to try it. We made our way to the one in Navy Yard. They had more than mint mojito iced coffees as their specials. But she got it anyways. Her taste and my taste differ vastly. So again, was not a fan. I decided to check this place out AGAIN, but in DuPont circle and got the iced latte to my tasting. Mmm so good! The barista was even nice enough to give me a free baklava! Besides the drink, the cafe is nice place to study or go on a date, or just relax before catching the metro.

Try their special mint coffee. It is on the creamier side and gets more minty towards the end so i'll recommend tossing out the mint leaves half way unless you like them. It's like a mojito but coffee version. Perfect for summer. Location is right near the water and has seating outside. Definitely worth checking out!
